Bengio's most famous contributions to deep learning are neural language models, machine translation, and biologically inspired machine learning.
Creator of Learning in Machines, Brains
A Canadian renowned artificial intelligence researcher, Yoshua Bengio is a professor at the University of Montreal and the Scientific Director of the Mila and IVADO labs. He was named Fellow of the Royal Society of London and won the A.M. Turing Award. He is also co-director at the CIFAR Institute of Learning in Machines and Brains.
Co-founder of Element AI
Element AI has closed a $151 million round of venture financing in September. Investors included Intel Capital and Data Collective as well as Hanwha Asset Management and Real Ventures. The company will be able to increase its AI solutions as well as accelerate their deployment. The company is already backed by investors including the National Bank of Canada and McKinsey & Co.

Turing Award recipient
Earlier this year, Yoshua Bengio won the Turing Award for his groundbreaking research on deep neural networks. He is also a professor of Statistics Learning Algorithms at the University of Montreal. Mila, a Quebec artificial intelligence institute, is also Bengio's creation. Bengio was awarded the Prix Marie-Victorin by Quebec for his outstanding achievements in pure and applied sciences.
FAQ
Is Alexa an Artificial Intelligence?
Yes. But not quite yet.
Amazon created Alexa, a cloud based voice service. It allows users use their voice to interact directly with devices.
The technology behind Alexa was first released as part of the Echo smart speaker. Other companies have since used similar technologies to create their own versions.
These include Google Home and Microsoft's Cortana.
Where did AI originate?
Artificial intelligence began in 1950 when Alan Turing suggested a test for intelligent machines. He stated that intelligent machines could trick people into believing they are talking to another person.
John McCarthy, who later wrote an essay entitled "Can Machines Thought?" on this topic, took up the idea. John McCarthy published an essay entitled "Can Machines Think?" in 1956. He described the difficulties faced by AI researchers and offered some solutions.
Which are some examples for AI applications?
AI is being used in many different areas, such as finance, healthcare management, manufacturing and transportation. These are just a handful of examples.
-
Finance - AI can already detect fraud in banks. AI can scan millions of transactions every day and flag suspicious activity.
-
Healthcare - AI is used to diagnose diseases, spot cancerous cells, and recommend treatments.
-
Manufacturing - AI is used to increase efficiency in factories and reduce costs.
-
Transportation - Self driving cars have been successfully tested in California. They are being tested across the globe.
-
Energy - AI is being used by utilities to monitor power usage patterns.
-
Education - AI can be used to teach. For example, students can interact with robots via their smartphones.
-
Government – AI is being used in government to help track terrorists, criminals and missing persons.
-
Law Enforcement – AI is being used in police investigations. Investigators have the ability to search thousands of hours of CCTV footage in databases.
-
Defense - AI systems can be used offensively as well defensively. It is possible to hack into enemy computers using AI systems. Defensively, AI can be used to protect military bases against cyber attacks.
Who created AI?
Alan Turing
Turing was born 1912. His father was a clergyman, and his mother was a nurse. He was an excellent student at maths, but he fell apart after being rejected from Cambridge University. He started playing chess and won numerous tournaments. He was a British code-breaking specialist, Bletchley Park. There he cracked German codes.
He died in 1954.
John McCarthy
McCarthy was conceived in 1928. Before joining MIT, he studied maths at Princeton University. There, he created the LISP programming languages. He was credited with creating the foundations for modern AI in 1957.
He passed away in 2011.
What is the current status of the AI industry
The AI industry continues to grow at an unimaginable rate. The internet will connect to over 50 billion devices by 2020 according to some estimates. This means that all of us will have access to AI technology via our smartphones, tablets, laptops, and laptops.
This will also mean that businesses will need to adapt to this shift in order to stay competitive. If they don't, they risk losing customers to companies that do.
This begs the question: What kind of business model do you think you would use to make these opportunities work for you? Could you set up a platform for people to upload their data, and share it with other users. Perhaps you could also offer services such a voice recognition or image recognition.
No matter what you do, think about how your position could be compared to others. Although you might not always win, if you are smart and continue to innovate, you could win big!
What is the most recent AI invention
Deep Learning is the most recent AI invention. Deep learning, a form of artificial intelligence, uses neural networks (a type machine learning) for tasks like image recognition, speech recognition and language translation. Google created it in 2012.
Google recently used deep learning to create an algorithm that can write its code. This was accomplished using a neural network named "Google Brain," which was trained with a lot of data from YouTube videos.
This enabled it to learn how programs could be written for itself.
IBM announced in 2015 the creation of a computer program which could create music. Neural networks are also used in music creation. These networks are also known as NN-FM (neural networks to music).

How To
How to create an AI program that is simple
A basic understanding of programming is required to create an AI program. There are many programming languages to choose from, but Python is our preferred choice because of its simplicity and the abundance of online resources, like YouTube videos, courses and tutorials.
Here's an overview of how to set up the basic project 'Hello World'.
First, you'll need to open a new file. This can be done using Ctrl+N (Windows) or Command+N (Macs).
Enter hello world into the box. To save the file, press Enter.
To run the program, press F5
The program should say "Hello World!"
However, this is just the beginning. These tutorials will help you create a more complex program.
